Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space / Black Edition 01   Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space / Black Edition 02

This Farrow-designed special edition of Spiritualized’s ‘Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space’ is available for pre-order on Amazon and features remixes, demo versions and accapellas. It was a great album to begin with, perhaps this is one for the major Spiritualized fans. I’m not sure it’s an improvement on the original white version with the 3″ CDs in pill-tray type packaging, but it is certainly no less beautiful. Original posting: SeptemberIndustry.

Kraftwerk – Musique Non Stop
Rightfully hailed the Godfathers of Techno, they pioneered an exciting new sound through the 70′s and 80′s that was literally decades ahead of it’s time. I remember hearing ‘Tour De France’ in the early 80′s though electro/breakdance tapes and it blew me away – this track is from 1986. There is better version on ‘The Mix’ LP, I remember Justin Robertson playing it on a big sound system at the Manchester Academy. Ace!

A Guy Called Gerald – Voodoo Ray
This tune is 21 years old, which makes me feel old too. It was original then, and still is now.

Get counting…

As a child, this was my favourite part of the whole show and quite possibly the highlight of my Saturday morning. For a children’s programme, it was oddly psychedelic and has a great funky 70′s soundtrack that descends into random freestyle jazz.
