Icade

Originally an April Fool's Day joke by ThinkGeek, the company has actually turned it full circle and produced a working model of the iCade. Best of all – it's soon going to be available to buy very soon.

As you might have guessed, it's a vintage-style arcade cabinet for your Apple iPad. Produced in conjunction with Ion and Atari, the iCade uses Bluetooth to communicate with the iPad, transferring classic arcade games (like Asteroids for example) to your iPad screen, arcade controls giving you a genuine arcade experience. The APU is going to be released too, allowing any Apple developer to create iCade-compatible games.

Lokk out for it from April (for real this time), priced at $99.99. Find out more at the ThinkGeek website.

Asteroids Wall Stickers

After much delay, I finally got round to decorating a wall at ElectricSun HQ with this set of retro wall stickers, given to me as a gift. If you’re too young to remember what Asteroinds is, you can play it here, but don’t expect it to be as cutting edge as it was back in 1979.
Lots of other wall stickers, some retro game themed, can be found at Blik.

Stealth

Out of Australia comes this Germany design using Japanese componentry. But there's only one place that this Stealth Arcade Table has come from really – the 1980s.

It's an update to the classic arcade table of the past, only this one comes with a futuristic casing, in a choice of deep space obsidian and supernova white. It's high gloss, with an easy care 10 coat two-pack and glass exterior with no join-lines to be seen.

It packs a hugh-definition LCD screen, high precision, aerospace grade controls and a bass speaker system, with 60 classic games pre-installed to keep you amused. $3,299 is the price, which works out at around £2,000.
Check them out at Arcade Tables.
