Just over 100 Porsche 904s were manufactured under the Carrera GTS name, starting in 1963. The car was never intended for mass production and was built only to satisfy GT race requirements. Not surprisingly, demand for this futuristic supercar far outstripped supply.

It was Porsche’s first fibreglass body, and the combination of a sleek lightweight chassis and mid-engine power plant proved formidable on the racetrack.

Alas, owning one of the originals is a prohibitively expensive proposition. Chuck Beck has a long history of manufacturing quality reproductions of the Porsche 356 and 500, and he stepped up to the plate to bring a 911-powered replica of the 904 to the masses.

The Beck 904′s air-cooled 3.164 L six-cylinder puts out 250 hp (net) mated to a 5-spd transaxle. A curb weight of only 1,740 lbs ensures ferocious performance, with a very respectable 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds.

The Beck 904 doesn’t come with niceties such as satnav or air conditioning, but it offers a chance to drive a surprisingly authentic remake of a classic Porsche at a cost of around $50,000 + drivetrain.

Incidentally, Peugeot complained about Porsche’s use of a zero in the middle of their model numbers, arguing that this was a hallmark of the Peugeot naming scheme. As a result, the Porsche 901 was rebadged the 911 and only Porsche race cars carried a zero from that point on.

The core of this collection is contained in the Neon Museum Boneyard, a rambling park approximately two acres in size. Signs featured date from the late 1930s through the early 90s and represent motels, local businesses, and celebrated casino resorts from throughout the Las Vegas Valley. While the Boneyard is not electrified, the photogenic collection offers a glimpse into the storied past of Las Vegas and its most memorable art form.
A portion of the Boneyard collection is available for tours and photo shoots by advanced appointment.

Originally an April Fool's Day joke by ThinkGeek, the company has actually turned it full circle and produced a working model of the iCade. Best of all – it's soon going to be available to buy very soon.

As you might have guessed, it's a vintage-style arcade cabinet for your Apple iPad. Produced in conjunction with Ion and Atari, the iCade uses Bluetooth to communicate with the iPad, transferring classic arcade games (like Asteroids for example) to your iPad screen, arcade controls giving you a genuine arcade experience. The APU is going to be released too, allowing any Apple developer to create iCade-compatible games.

Lokk out for it from April (for real this time), priced at $99.99. Find out more at the ThinkGeek website.

You might remember that we featured an Etch A Sketch iPad case some time back, which turned the fashionable tablet into a vintage kids toy. At least in looks anyway. Well, somehow we missed its little brother – the Etch A Sketch iPhone case.

In essence, it does the same thing to your iPhone as it did with the iPad. Although let's be honest, the proportions aren't quite the same with the tablet and iPhone versions. Still, it's guaranteed to catch the eye when you pull out your iPhone on the bus or trains.

Officially licensed and made of impact resistant ABS plastic, you can grab one for $24.99 online.
